Brake pads
Brake pads are an important part of the brakes on all types of vehicles equipped with disc brakes. The brake pads are made of metal plates with a brake pad attached to a surface opposite the brake disc. The brake pads convert the kinetic energy of the vehicle into thermal energy by friction. When the pad is heated by contact with the drum or rotor, a small amount of braking material is transferred to the drum, the pad and the disc adhere to each other, and braking force is being applied by this pressure. The pads can have different operating temperatures and using the wrong type can cause the brakes to fail.
PENAX offers brake pads for commercial vehicles from leading manufacturers like Wabco, Knorr-Bremse and Haldex.
