EBS
EBS stands for Electronic Brake System. This system is used on commercial vehicles and, as the name suggests, means electronic brake control. An EBS control unit is always required for this. The advantage of this system is that it already includes ABS (anti-lock braking system) and ASR (anti-slip system).
The advantages of the EBS system include a shorter reaction time combined with maximum available braking force, which results in a shorter braking distance, high driving stability and steering control, even during emergency braking. Other benefits include improved traction on slippery surfaces (black ice, gravel, etc.) and lower, more balanced tire wear.
PENAX offers EBS systems from the leading manufacturers Wabco, Knorr-Bremse and Haldex. In addition to providing you with spare parts, we can design a conversion set for an older vehicle currently not being equipped with an EBS system, given that the repair of the existing system no longer makes economic sense. If desired, we would then assemble such a set in one of our service shops.
