Schmitz Cargobull

The Schmitz Cargobull AG is a German family business founded in 1892. At that time, Heinrich Schmitz, the company's founder, began designing cars. During this time, the company developed from a craft enterprise to an industrial vehicle producer. In 1928, the first motor vehicle trailer equipped with solid rubber tires was shipped. Since 1935, semi-trailers and vans with a steel outer shell on a wooden frame have been produced. In 1950, Schmitz produced its first insulated and tempered superstructure.
