Tire pressure sensing

The leading manufacturers Wabco, Knorr-Bremse and Haldex nowadays all offer tire pressure monitoring. Wabco offers this system under the name OptiTire (formerly also IVTM). OptiTire is the next generation of tire pressure monitoring solutions for towing vehicles, trailers and buses, designed to reduce operating costs and increase fleet safety. It is well known that fuels are the largest variable budgetary item, and diesel prices certainly more often go up than down. Improper tire pressure is a real danger. Overinflation and underinflation of the tires will result in poor vehicle handling and a longer braking distance. The OptiTire system helps to keep tire pressure at the correct value, thus significantly increasing the safety and economy of the vehicle fleet.
