Air treatment

The compressed air produced from the compressor must first be freed of air humidity and dirt before further use. For older vehicles, this is provided by conventional air dryers, and for newer vehicles by APUs or electronic air control units (EACs). The modular system platform (EAC) with additional integrated functions reduces the vehicle manufacturer's overall costs and enables the optimization of his service concept. This makes it possible to achieve fuel savings by using the deceleration phase of the engine, precise regeneration and an improved energy saving concept. These EAC units are connected to the central communication network of the vehicle, the so-called CAN BUS, which leads to better and more efficient control and drying procedure of the compressed air.
